Blogor: What’s Next?

The uniqueness of blogging in Indonesia is “Kopdar”, offline meeting or routine gathering for online community to meet with others in real world ; ). Blogor, the blogger community from Bogor, had done Kopdar on 15th November at Telkom Plaza Bogor. This kopdar was special because it was talking about the next step to re-activate the community in order to improve the community. This event was facilitated by Mr. Prasabri Pesti, the General Manager of Telkom Bogor, that also one of Blogor.

In the meeting, we talked about the next step of Blogor’s Activities. Kang Achoey opened the meeting by explaining the history of Blogor, and Blogor updated. The meeting also assessed that Blogor Organization structure should be added in order to strengthen the main committee. Beside that, to keep the Blogor Site always updated and consistent, the editorial board for Blogor.org was formed.

Division of Education

There is also new division in Blogor, Division of Education. This division is formed because we think that Blog is also the source of education, especially nowadays with the rising of internet and technology. Blog can improve the level of education, especially for student and public. Blogor also will have more contribution in the development of Telkom; and the most importance is to establish the open education for all.

The meeting attendance appointed me as the Head of Division. This position (for me) should be accountable and seriously handled. Actually, there are several reasons why I accept this position:
- I love to teach
- This is my opportunity to do social movement to share free education for all (as before I got full scholarship and get free education previously)
- 2010, It’s the time for education in Bogor should be increased, improved, and got better.
For doing this, I’m not alone, I have the team, Angga (Blogor & SMAKBO student) and Billy (Blogor & Chemistry Teacher in Dwi Warna), and indeed with the support of Mr. Matri Soni, Mr. Prasabri Pesti, Mr. Sjafri, and All Blogor(S).

The Biggest Blogger Party in Indonesia

1378 Bloggers from all parts of Indonesia celebrate the 3rd party of Blogging in this democracy nation. Pesta Blogger 2009 (Blogger Party)  is the biggest blogger party in Indonesia, was held on Saturday, October 24th 2009, At Smesco Building. The theme for the annual gathering of the country’s blogging community was “One Spirit, One Nation.”

The event began with the Indonesian anthem and a short documentary about the country’s diversity. Minister of Communication and Information Technology Tifatul Sembiring opened the event. There were also bloggers from other countries, Brian Giessen, a Sydney-based social media expert and blogger; Mark Fraunfelderz,the founder of BoingBoing.net; Arsalan Ikhtifar, human rights lawyer and founder of TheMuslimGuy.com blog; and Corvida Raven, author of Everything Twitter and The Social Geeks Podcast. The last three Bloggers appeared from their place via teleconference.

I and  Blogor(s)

What a great day for me to see the rising of blogging that gathered together with the same purpose. There were a lot of bloggers came from different parts of Indonesia, vary demographic background but with one purpose. I, as a blogger from Bogor, West Java, came together with Blogor (Blogger Bogor) Team. There were 16 Blogor(s) came to this event.

The Most Powerful Strategy: Word of Mouth!

In every industry, Word of Mouth (WOM) is still the powerful source both in marketing or public relations strategy. What about in the online village? Yes indeed. Nielsen’s Research shows that the consumer recommendation that came from Word-of-Mouth process is the most trusted source.

The research shows that about 90% respondents trust the recommendation from other consumers, where more than 30% ‘trust completely’ and more than 50% ‘trust somewhat’. There’s just only 10% that told ‘don’t trust much’ and ‘don’t trust at all the recommendation from others.

Kembali merajut persahabatan dengan Bumi

“wahai langit, wahai bumi yang selalu terjaga, warnai dunia…
memberikan kehidupan bagi setiap jiwa…”

Maaf jika saya membahas topik yang sudah sering kali didengar ini, maaf jika saya juga kembali mengingatkan tentang masalah global warming yang mungkin sebagian ada yang akan semakin peduli, resah, gelisah, cuek, acuh tak acuh, atau menjadi tergerak untuk melakukan sesuatu hal yang kecil namun ternyata berdampak besar untuk perbaikan iklim dan menjadikan bumi ini kembali menjadi sahabat kita.

“..tetapi sayang manusia, manusia… terlupa tuk menjaga..
manusia..manusia.. tak memperdulikan… manusia..manusia..
yang tlah terlena.. “

Bumi yang sudah semakin tua, dan semakin dibuat susah oleh manusia, mulai hendak memutuskan tali persahabatannya dengan makhluk yang katanya paling sempurna. Dulu ia sangat baik, katanya, dulu manusia ini masih sangat mencintai bumi.. mungkin itu dulu, dulu sekali..

Tapi bumi yang terlena dengan kebaikan manusia yang ternyata pura-pura baik ini, mulai sadar, bahwa manusia benar-benar sudah tidak peduli lagi dengannya, Bumi yang malang…
Kini meskipun Bumi sudah mulai menunjukkan “amarahnya” padahal yang dilakukan sebenarnya hanyalah mengingatkan manusia.. karena hubungan bumi dan manusia tidak bisa dipisahkan..

Bumi sangat ingin bersahabat dengan manusia, tapi sayang manusia belum sadar juga..
Teman-teman, wahai sesama manusia, marilah kita kembali bersahabat dengan Bumi, kita berbaikan dengannya, kita kembali mencintainya, karena Bumi sudah tanpa pamrih memberikan segala miliknya untuk manusia, tetapi kita tidak menjaganya..

Teman-teman sesama manusia, Bumi kan selalu senantiasa menunggu permintaaan maaf manusia dan kembali merajut persahabatan yang sejati, setia sampai akhir jaman.. Bumi akan selalu menunggu langkah manusia untuk kembali mencintainya, menjaganya, dan merawatnya sepenuh hati..
